MONTGOMERY, Alabama (September 16, 2010) – Republican State Senate District 13 nominee Gerald Dial today received the endorsement of Alabama Associated General Contractors. Chris Williams, Director of Governmental Affairs for AGC, made the endorsement official from the Association’s office.
“Gerald Dial received our endorsement because he has been in the trenches promoting economic growth for a long time. He understands the construction industry in Alabama adds a great deal to the livelihood of the state. As a businessman, he knows the importance of protecting the bottom line,” Mr. Williams said today.
AGC is an 82-year old trade association whose mission is to, “Promote existing construction markets and develop new construction markets for our members.”
“I very much appreciate the endorsement from AGC. It is a big boost to my campaign. I will continue working to bring jobs to East Alabama through an economic revival, the likes of which haven’t been seen. When we harness our can-do spirit, we will succeed like never before,” Mr. Dial stated.
Senate District 13 includes all of Chambers, Clay, Cleburne, and Randolph Counties and parts of Cherokee and Lee Counties.
Gerald Dial is a native of Delta, Alabama in Clay County. He is a businessman and a former teacher, coach and a veteran of the Alabama National Guard where he served for 38 years. Mr. Dial also served as executive director of the Alabama Rural Action Commission until resigning to seek the Senate seat for District 13. He is married to Faye Bonner Dial, a retired public school teacher and counselor. The Dials have a daughter, Melanie, and a son, Jason. Mr. and Mrs. Dial live in Lineville in Clay County.
