Press Release: Gerald Dial Receives State Employees’ Endorsement
MONTGOMERY, Alabama (August 16, 2010) – Gerald Dial, Republican nominee for the Alabama Senate in District 13, received the endorsement of the political arm of the Alabama State Employees Association. The Association’s political action committee, SEA-PAC, informed Mr. Dial of his endorsement by a letter from PAC Treasurer Mac McArthur dated August 6th.
"SEA-PAC is honored to endorse the election of Senator Gerald Dial. Gerald has a strong record of supporting active and retired state employees. Time and time again Gerald has fought to protect state employee's benefits and jobs," said Mr. McArthur.
Gerald Dial expressed his appreciation for the SEA-PAC endorsement. “State employees are the foundation upon which an efficient and effective state government is built and maintained. I know the valuable services state employees provide in Montgomery and in East Alabama, and I’m honored to have their support and appreciative of this endorsement,” Mr. Dial stated. “The key to reducing government spending and balancing our budget is having a talented, efficient and effective state workforce, and I think we’re right on track,” he concluded.
Gerald Dial is a native of Delta, Alabama in Clay County. He is a businessman and a former teacher, coach and a veteran of the Alabama National Guard where he served for 38 years. Mr. Dial also served as executive director of the Alabama Rural Action Commission until resigning to seek the Senate seat for District 13. He is married to Faye Bonner Dial, a retired public school teacher and counselor. The Dials have a daughter, Melanie, and a son, Jason. Mr. and Mrs. Dial live in Lineville in Clay County.
Alabama State Senate District 13 consists of parts of Cherokee and Lee Counties and all of Cleburne, Clay, Randolph and Chambers Counties.
