Press Release: Gerald Dial Lauds GOP’s Handshake with Alabama

LINEVILLE, Alabama (August 16, 2010) – Republican state senate candidate Gerald Dial today praised the Republican House and Senate Caucuses’ 2010 Republican Handshake with Alabama, an agenda the GOP is promoting if Republicans reach a majority in both or either chambers of the Alabama Legislature in 2010.

The Handshake focuses on job creation, enacting tougher immigration laws, improving ethics, controlling state spending and keeping federal government from infringing on issues traditionally governed by the states. To view the Handshake document in its entirety, visit www.alabama2010.com.

“The 2010 Republican Handshake with Alabama is just what the doctor ordered in moving Alabama forward. I commend House Minority Leader Mike Hubbard and Senate Minority Leader Jabo Waggoner for their hard work in preparing this agenda. It will put Alabama back on the right track to improve the economy and job climate, put teeth in our ethics laws, address illegal immigration, stop Washington’s intrusion, and control state spending,” said Gerald Dial.

“A little-known fact is that Democrats have been in control of both the state house and senate for 136 years. Sending another left-wing Democrat to Montgomery to be a rubber stamp for the trial lawyers and liberal unions will just add to our economic woes. Instead, we should elect real conservatives with new ideas, foresight and conviction, and that’s why I’m running for state senate.” Mr. Dial added.

Gerald Dial is a native of Delta, Alabama in Clay County. He is a businessman and a former teacher, coach and a veteran of the Alabama National Guard where he served for 38 years. Mr. Dial also served as executive director of the Alabama Rural Action Commission until resigning to seek the Senate seat for District 13. He is married to Faye Bonner Dial, a retired public school teacher and counselor. The Dials have a daughter, Melanie, and a son, Jason. Mr. and Mrs. Dial live in Lineville in Clay County.

Alabama State Senate District 13 consists of parts of Cherokee and Lee Counties and all of Cleburne, Clay, Randolph and Chambers Counties.
